Open letter to Secretary of State Clinton

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Dear Secretary Clinton,

Let me see now.....you are saying that we need to give $110,000 in aid to Pakistan and it is 'imperative' that will support international efforts to relieve a humanitarian crisis in the Swat Valley that has left about 2 million people temporarily homeless. You say this will include 30,000 family relief kits, 5,000 tents, water trucks and food. The aid money will also buy locally made products to boost Pakistani merchants.

Okey dokey.....lets pretend for a moment that the United States has $110,000 to throw around and we are not in debt several trillions of dollars already. I may not be a rocket scientist, but let me see if i can help out just a little bit with the math here and thinking 'outside' the box.

Perhaps, we could just stop spending money on drones, bombs and military aid that is killing the Pakistani's as well as the Taliban, and give that money to those we, and the Taliban have made into refugees. I don't think, at the prices of drones and bombs or rockets that it would take too many of those to make up that amount.

Another benefit, could be, that since we wouldn't be killing innocent Pakistanis, that we might be able to start a real relationship with them, instead of creating more people that hate us and thus more terrorists who want to hurt us. Such a deal!

But then, what do I know of foreign affairs???

To bomb or not to bomb??????That is the question........or is it?
